By most measures and under the best of circumstances, distance education is an expensive undertaking. This is an educational reality that's often lost in the headlong administrative rush to generate excitement and garner a larger share of limited education dollars. To help determine if distance education is an appropriate strategy for your institution/agency, you should first: (1) Factor in all costs of doing distance education, both one-time and on-going, before making the decision about whether or to develop a program; (2) Identify all stakeholders involved in the distance education enterprise at the outset, and insure that all benefit in an equitable, measurable, and indisputable way.
Join Dr. Barry Willis for an eye-opening cost/benefit analysis of distance education today. His presentation and the support materials you’ll receive will help you analyze the effectiveness of distance education as a strategy for your institution.
