Carol J. Carter has written more than twenty books on college and career success. Her best-selling series at the college level, Keys to Success, is published by Prentice Hall and is used by 200,000 students across the country in first year programs. Her first book, Majoring in the Rest of Your Life: Career Secrets for College Students, outlines the expectations the real world has of graduates so that they can prepare for that reality while they are still in school. Five years ago, she began her own company called LifeBound, which serves middle school and high school students in academic, emotional and social preparation for college, career and life. She has created a stair-step success program for sixth through twelfth grade in an effort to raise standards and outcomes in the K-12 arena, and to prepare students to become global citizens. She also runs an academic coaching skills arm of LifeBound which trains teachers, tutors, advisors and administrators in the valuable skill of effective questioning, connecting with students at the emotional and social levels. Carol speaks nationally and internationally on student and career success.
