High School Counselors: Allies in Increasing College Enrollment

60-Minute Recording of Audio Online Seminar • Originally Broadcast January 17, 2008 • $189

What high school guidance counselors think about community colleges matters. They have a lot of influence on students’ enrollment decisions and tend to steer students to preferences based on their own college experiences. So if a high school guidance counselor attended a four-year institution, he or she are likely to overlook community colleges when apprising students of their postsecondary options.

And because counselors have a lot of impact on students’ college motivation and preparation, they also influence students’ chances of success. So in the end, good relationships with high school guidance counselors are critical to your institution’s enrollment management efforts.

Still, because these relationships take time and effort to develop and sustain, they often get put on the back burner. This seminar will show you concrete steps you can take now to move those relationships in a positive direction.

This presentation will provide insights on high school counselors and help you create programs and marketing initiatives that strengthen communication, increase enrollment yields, and increase student persistence.
