About the presenter

Dr. Jeanne Widen’s extensive experience in higher education includes teaching and administration positions, on-ground and online instruction, and work in the U.S. and abroad. She received her Ph.D. in English Language and Literature from the University of Chicago. She is currently Chair of the English Department at Ellis University, an online university for working adults, where she has also served as a faculty coach and president/vice-president of the faculty senate. Her many presentations emphasize connection and interaction with audiences, while exploring such topics as chairing departments in online programs, working with at-risk students, and managing attrition and promotion in undergraduate programs.
