RSS and the Endless Semester

The semester is the basic building block of the higher education schedule. But what if new technology opens up ways that the semester could be modified—even extended indefinitely into life after graduation? Ray Schroeder, professor emeritus of communication, and Director of the Office of Technology-Enhanced Learning (OTEL) at the University of Illinois at Springfield, is already experimenting with ways in which both current and former students can benefit from a “semester without end.” Distance Education Report talked with him recently about just what he means.
