Hiring for a Fast Start

The scenario is familiar to everyone: a key information technology staff position is vacant and a replacement is needed immediately. For an increasing number of these positions there is a pool of talent available through temporary agencies. Of course, geographic location diminishes this option for many institutions, particularly those in rural areas. But where these providers and a good local base of talent exist, they have good potential to help with short-term staffing needs and also recruitment of permanent staff.
