Nearly three-fourths of those who responded said they have not used a blog to supplement any of their courses. Of the quarter who said they had used a blog, the majority said it was a positive experience. The most-frequently listed benefits of using this format were seeing students work through ideas presented in class more fully, and providing a venue for students who might otherwise be too shy or intimidated to speak out in class. Other comments focused on the benefits of the blog as a communication tool for the instructor.
