Take the Poll!
Last month's question was, "Would you like to see Student Affairs work more closely with Academic Affairs on your campus? What is preventing -- or encouraging -- collaboration on your campus?"
Nearly three-fourths of respondents indicated a desire for the two areas to work more closely together. Comments included possibly incorporating both divisions under an umbrella network that would ensure more collaboration; that closer working relationships would help with administrative organization; current reporting structures do not encourage the two entities to collaborate; and a campus-wide focus on student retention helps to bridge the divide.
This month's question is "Involvement in institutional issues beyond my department is:
Strongly encouraged
Somewhat encouraged
Not encouraged
Faculty investment in the institution is:
Properly rewarded
Inadequately rewarded
Not rewarded at all
What do you think would be most effective in getting faculty members to invest in their institutions rather than focusing only on their own departments?"
