Fresh campus leaders honing skills in GSAs
This is where the new campus leaders will come from: The 40,000 to 50,000 junior high and high school students who are active in Gay-Straight Alliances (GSAs) nationwide.
Carolyn Laub, executive director of the Gay-Straight Alliance Network, provided that estimate in an interview with GLBT Campus Matters. Of that, about 10,000 students are in high schools in California. We are consistently hearing that there is a burgeoning movement of GSAs on junior and high school levels nationally, said Laub.
