After observing and teaching international students for years, Peggy Street, center director of the ELS Language Center at Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida, has come to the conclusion that there is no one reason why some international students do not succeed at U.S. institutions. She has, however, identified general categories into which most international students’ roadblocks fall.
