Building a GLBT Center from the Ground Up
In starting the University of Florida’s first GLBT center, Tamara Cohen is faced with many struggles, including getting out the word that the school now has resources for GLBT students. “Some of the challenge in starting a new program is letting the university know you exist,” says Cohen, director of LGBT affairs at UF, whose 48,000-plus enrollment makes it one of the five largest campuses in the United States.
