Responding to Mental Health Crises Abroad
Mental health problems are as likely to crop up on a study abroad program as they are on campusthat is to say, with some regularity. And given the unusual stresses of being in a strange environment far from home, they become even more likely. The weight of dealing with the problem falls on the program leader, who is often a faculty member but rarely a mental health professional.
