Student Mental Health, Diminishing Resources: Two Major Challenges for Urban Community Colleges

At all types of higher education institutions, students are straining campus mental health resources by presenting more frequent or complex mental health concerns. The situation can be even more challenging at urban community colleges, which serve students who don’t always have the resources to address mental health issues on their own. In addition, community colleges don’t always have the resources to provide the services these students need, especially when faced with staff and budget cuts.
