How to Make the Most of Your Depression Screening

Six years ago, my dean asked me, What outreach and prevention programming is the counseling center doing? As a new director, my initial focus was providing quality clinical care, and in that area things were going really well. But this question about prevention programming and outreach was new to me. We had brochures. We went to orientation events and set up booths. We helped with the RA training. But prevention programming?

Suicide Prevention Training Now Available Online

More than 300,000 people, including thousands of staff, students, and faculty at more than 100 colleges and universities in America and Canada, have received training in a suicide prevention program called QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer). QPR has been taught in classroom settings for more than 10 years. The training is a blend of video, lecture, and experiential role plays.
Perspectives - Is Cheating a Student Affairs Problem?
Cheating is a huge problem on my campus. Its clear that we need to do more than were currently doing to prevent it. My counterpart in academic affairs is forming a committee, and she asked me to consider joining it. While Im not eager to commit to additional meetings, I do think that this is an important issue. Your thoughts, please?
