How Three Student Organizations Attracted Resources

Student Affairs Leader spoke with three campuses recently about how they raised funds for important causes.
Some campuses take fundraising for student activities/organizations very seriously. For example, the University of Illinois has a dedicated development office specifically for student affairs. Katie Malone, the assistant director of development for the Student Affairs Development Office, helps connect donors with student organizations that seek funds. We try to match a donor with their interest, she says. We try to bring in gifts for current use and those that can be used in any programs, where the largest needs are.
