Cross Examination: Bargaining for Adjuncts
A group of part-time instructors wanted to form a union for all the common reasons. They wanted to negotiate from a position of strength with their employer, George Washington University (DC), over wages, benefits, and work conditions and job protections. So they did what others before them have done. The defined the group of employees they wanted to organize. They found a national organization to support their effort and affiliate with if successful in forming a union. And they held an election.
