Out of the Courts: Private Computer School Faces Public Battle (Many of Them!)

Three former students at the Business Computer Training Institute (BCTI) in Oregon have filed a class action suit against their trade school. They say the trade school, now out of business, defrauded them out of their tuition money. BCTI students in Washington State filed a similar complaint in 2005. The 1,300 members of that class action each got a check for more than $8,000 from the owners of the school, as part of a $13.5 million settlement. The Oregon students who took their claims to court in January 2008 are now hoping for a similar result.
