An Administrator’s Role in Student Persistence

The premise of this article is to encourage administrators, faculty members, and staff personnel to be willing to make connections with students in a concerted effort to foster student persistence (and thus increase revenue via tuition). Universities may become more tuition-dependent as annual capital campaign giving, state appropriations, and endowments are likely to stagnate or decrease. One obvious strategy to foster tuition revenue is to retain the school's current cadre of students.
