Throughout late 2008 and the first half of 2009, the financial health of General Motors Corporation (GM) was much in doubt, with the automaker eventually filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on June 1, 2009. This extended period of uncertainty left consumers wondering about whether purchasing a GM vehicle was a wise decision. A similar phenomenon can happen in higher education.
