Aligning Values with Resources and Assessment Results

Many regional accreditors now require that institutional leadership demonstrate the ability to use outcomes-based program review (OBPR) results to inform resource allocations. However, the reports from regional accreditation leadership reveal that many institutional leaders are facing challenges in doing this. The reasons for not engaging in this process typically have little to do with timing of the institutional budgeting process; rather, the institutional leaders either have not established a practice of using evidence to inform resource allocations or are unsure of the priorities that inform such resource allocations.†
