How Strategic Plans and Assessment Data Can Help Fundraising
Increasing competition for tighter resources has made it essential for institutions to be able to provide tangible evidence of the positive effects of donors’ contributions. Perhaps the best way to do this is by providing assessment data in the context of the strategic plan, an approach developed at Widener University. In an interview with Academic Leader, Linda Durant, Widener’s vice president for university advancement, and Jo Allen, president of Meredith College (and former senior vice president and provost at Widener), described this method and offered advice on implementing it at other institutions.
