ITC 2007 Distance Education Survey Key Trends: Continued Growth, Greater Academic Control, Movement to Open Source
Results of the annual Instructional Technology Council (ITC) Distance Education survey confirm continued robust growth in distance education enrollments, far out-pacing growth in traditional enrollments. Other important trends included greater academic department control over distance education programs; and a growing migration to open source learning management systems from proprietary LMS's. Distance education administrators are also increasingly concerned about the lack of feedback from students about courses.
