Cyberbullying: What You Need to Know
There are other types of bullying that occur in the college and university environment, and they can even occur in the online classroom. Additionally, it is important to understand that this type of bullying is not restricted to student-on-student situations; a student or students can also bully an instructor, or an instructor can bully a student. Teresa Mason, Ph.D., is associate professor of psychology and chair of the department of psychology and sociology at Park University. Together with her colleague, Cathy Taylor, JD, assistant professor of management and online instructor evaluator at Park, Mason has examined the problems of bullying in the online classroom. The pair’s findings address both the legal and psychological aspects of cyberbullying.
