Supporting STEM Faculty in the Transition Online (A Sloan-C Effective Practice)

Distance Education Report

The vital cluster of STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) pose their own particular challenges when taught online. They demand faculty development programs that take those challenges into account. Loyola University Chicago's Faculty Center for Ignatian Pedagogy (FCIP) established a cohort of STEM instructors that worked with instructional designers to focus on features that were unique to teaching the STEM disciplines online. Working together, the group developed effective practices for using technology to deliver their courses.
