“With [the] proliferation in online education, it is logical and necessary to inquire about how the faculty is being trained to teach in this medium,” write Elizabeth Ciabocchi and Amy Ginsberg, both of Long Island University, in the abstract of 2012 Sloan-C presentation. They identify a gap in the knowledge about training available for online and blended course faculty, and they have started filling this knowledge gap with research about faculty development practices in traditional universities.
