Teaching Online With Errol: A Mini-Guide for Presenting Webinars, Part II: Presenting to Students

Last month’s column focused on presenting webinars to faculty; this month’s focus is on student webinars. (Note: webinars come in different “flavors”—live chats, chats, live lectures, and others; for space considerations all of these will be referred to as webinars.) Because presentations to students are different in many ways from those to colleagues and faculty, there is not a one-size-fits-all approach. I present here my best suggestions from my experience of giving student webinars for the past 15 years. Incorporate one, some, or all—I assure you that each will result in a better webinar for you and your students.
