Using Market Data to Guide Program Development

Through close partnerships with local industry and extensive market research, Northeast Iowa Community College was able to develop its Gas Utility Construction and Service program (an associate in applied science degree program) in just nine months. Community College Leader recently spoke to Curt Oldfield, the college’s vice president of academic affairs, about how this program came about and how the process might be applied to developing future academic programs.
