Managing faculty is one of the big challenges in online education. It is especially difficult when a program uses adjunct professors to teach many of its classes. Norwich University in Northfield, Vt., has developed a system of training and monitoring online faculty for its online masters degree programs that allows it to take advantage of using adjunct faculty while minimizing the problems associated with off-campus teachers.
