The Rewards of Putting the Liberal Arts Online

One could be forgiven for the assumption that the average distance education student is probably in some career training or certification program. But the pioneers of Web-based distance education always believed that online education could take on more of the academic course load. Providing a liberal arts education online has its own set of challenges and its own set of rewards. The next time you’re planning an expansion of your DE offerings, you might consider expanding into a liberal arts curriculum. And if you do, an example you might want to follow is that of Boston University’s Metropolitan College.
