In 2001, I began instructing classes online after a five-year hiatus from teaching. I immediately noticed a difference, not in the environment itself as compared to a traditional “bricks and mortar” classroom, but in a particular student demographic. This difference presented a formidable challenge that I was determined to meet head on.
