World leaders of distance education gathered in Paris during the second week of May to discuss major distance education issues at a conference sponsored by the United Nation’s Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Reider Roll, the secretary general of the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) shared his keynote address and his thoughts on current and emerging issues with Distance Education Report.
