A Quality Teacher in Every Classroom: Three Universities, Three States, One Online Teacher CertificationBy Jennifer Patterson Lorenzetti
St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Loyola University in Chicago, and Marquette University in Milwaukee are three very different universities. But they have some important factors in common. All are located in an urban setting and all are Jesuit universities. All are located in areas with documented teacher shortages in science and math, and all three universities wanted to attract more teachers of color. So, these three institutions joined forces to develop an innovative partnership for an online post-baccalaureate teacher certification program.
