Benjamin Franklin is well known as America’s own Renaissance man, proficient in many areas and specialties and unafraid to try new things. It is particularly appropriate, then, that when Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., decided to host a 300th birthday celebration for Franklin in January, it named a faculty member with no experience in campus events planning to chair the working group.
