Linda Shadiow, PhD

Linda Shadiow, PhD, is a professor emeritus at the Northern Arizona University. When Shadiow began her English professorship and later educational foundations professorship at Montana State University and then Northern Arizona University in the 1980s, her loves of literature and theory propelled her. Between 2004-13, she served as the director of the Faculty Professional Development program at NAU. In her 2013 book, What Our Stories Teach Us: A Guide to Critical Reflection for College Faculty (Jossey-Bass), she maps out avenues leading to deeper understandings of one’s teaching.
Shadiow earned a PhD in philosophy from Arizona State University, a MEd in English/language arts teacher education from the Montana State University-Bozeman, and a BS in English, speech, and theater from Bemidji State University.
