Searches with Incumbents or Internal Candidates

Any process that involves the hiring of a new member of the faculty or staff has to be taken very seriously. After all, you're dealing with someone's career and livelihood, and mistakes in this area can be disastrous. Moreover, all searches involve many people, any one of whom could inadvertently say or do something that jeopardizes the integrity of the process.
