How to Jump-Start a Distance Education Division

People at Pace believed that they needed to develop the programs faster than traditional methods for developing new programs could allow.  Faculty development of a program typically takes two to three years. In this timeframe, Pace felt that it would be left behind. In the end, Pace developed five complete online programs, that now serve 168 students, in the space of two years.  This growth required doing things in a way that was not traditional for the university environment.Here are some key elements Pace employed.
