Surviving in the New Distance Education Universe: Lessons from New Research

Dr. Jay Halfond is the former dean of Boston University's Metropolitan College, where for more than a decade he helped create, expand and oversee BU's distance learning capability. Halfond is currently on sabbatical, and is conducting independent research. Based on that research, he feels that many programs may, in the near future, find themselves facing structural demands that will in some cases pose existential challenges to their programs. DER recently got Dr. Halfond to share some of the preliminary findings and insights he has derived from his research.
