Getting and Keeping Faculty Online

What factors encourage faculty members to teach online and keep doing so?  Kristen Betts, formerly of Drexel University, examined this question by looking at two studies, one conducted at George Washington University in 1997, and a later study conducted at Armstrong Atlantic State University in 2012.  Her results are published in the March 2014 issue of the Online Journal of Distance Learning Administration in an article titled, “Factors Influencing Faculty Participation & Retention in Online & Blended Education.”
