Increasing Efficiency in Online Course Development
Developing an online course is always a challenge; having many courses under development at any one time only multiplies the issues. This is what Virginia Tech found. According to Lujean Baab, Senior Director for Networked Learning Design and Strategies at Virginia Tech, the institution found itself on the horns of dilemma. With nearly 30,000 students, around 1,400 faculty members, and just four full-time instructional designers, developing new courses was a process plagued by three main problems.
