Enlisting Champions for Distance Education from College Leadership

Frustrated distance education program administrators often complain that they're not getting enough top-down support for their initiatives. They feel that distance ed still seems to be outside of the mainstream of the school's priorities and mission. A recent project originating from a joint commission of the National Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges (NASULGC) and the Sloan Foundation has sought to address that situation, initiating a mission to persuade presidents and chancellors of the central importance of distance ed to the institutions' long term priorities.
