Students and Faculty Define ‘Teaching Effectiveness’ Differently, Study Suggests

Student ratings of teaching effectiveness are often used to measure an individual faculty member’s skills as well as students’ overall satisfaction with their academic experiences. That makes our understanding of the term “teaching effectiveness” important. Do students and teachers define the term similarly?
