How Do Faculty and Students Define ‘Engagement’?

Student engagement—it’s one of those terms we hear and use all the time. But what does it actually mean? That’s the question addressed in a survey of engineering students and faculty. The students responded to two open-ended queries: “What do you mean by engagement in courses?” and “What makes a course engaging to you?”
