Teaching in the college classroom for the first time is definitely exciting. But there’s also tremendous pressure, uncertainty, and vulnerability.

New teachers want to perform well, but they often enter the classroom as experts in their field—not necessarily experts in the fundamentals of pedagogy.

Teaching Fundamentals for New College Instructors is your extensive deep dive into five core areas of college teaching: Great Course Design, Effective Learning Approaches, Engaging Teaching Presentations, Outstanding Assessment, and Connecting with Students. This 20-25 hour Magna Online Course features units with specific modules that further explore the topic to create a comprehensive guide to college teaching. Accompanying activities let you plan as you learn and immediately apply to course content to your own teaching practice.
