Leena Jo Landmark, PhD

Leena Jo Landmark is a full professor of special education in the School of Teaching and Learning at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. She earned her PhD in educational psychology from Texas A&M University. She received the designation of Fellow of the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (FAAIDD) in 2024. Her research focuses on the instruction and transition of students with disabilities, including topics such as self-determination, family involvement, culturally responsive and sustaining practices, and postsecondary educational practices. In 2023, she was awarded the Patricia L. Sitlington Research Award from the Council of Exceptional Children Division on Career Development and Transition.
