Julia Metzker, PhD

Julia Metzker is the director for Washington Center for Improving Undergraduate Education at Evergreen State College. She is also an author, educator, educational developer, and administrator. She recently co-authored Learning That Matters: A Field Guide to Course Design for Transformative Education, a guidebook that takes a fresh approach to designing learning experiences for the 21st century. Metzker believes in the transformational potential of a liberal education. She is a passionate and innovative educator and designer, committed to revolutionizing the way people learn and engage with content. Her goal is to create a learning environment where learners can construct knowledge, think critically, and connect with the content in a meaningful way, paving the path for lifelong learning and personal growth.
