Jennifer Waldeck, PhD

Jennifer H. Waldeck is professor and head, Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communication in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at the University of Georgia. She is affiliated faculty in the Department of Communication Studies, Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, University of Georgia. She currently serves as president of the Eastern Communication Association, and chair of its Finance and Publication Committees. Prior to joining UGA, she served as professor and associate dean for Faculty Affairs and Academic Programs in the School of Communication, Chapman University.
A Distinguished Research Fellow of the Eastern Communication Association, Waldeck’s research interests span organizational, instructional, strategic, and applied communication. She has written or co-authored eight books and 75 peer-reviewed articles and chapters including a number of influential works on the theory and methods of effective instructional communication. She has won “Top Paper” honors in Instructional Communication, Applied Communication, Organizational Communication, Training & Development, and Instructional Communication groups at international, national, and regional conferences. She has served on the editorial boards of twelve academic journals, and is a long-time member of the Teaching Professor advisory board.
