Timothy Bussey, PhD
Timothy R. Bussey, PhD, is the assistant director for the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Kenyon College, where they specialize in fostering LGBTQ+ inclusion and equity on campus. Bussey is a recent graduate of the Dept. of Political Science at the University of Connecticut, where their doctoral dissertation focused upon the histories of exclusion facing queer and transgender persons in the American military and intelligence communities from World War I to present. While at the University of Connecticut, they held positions with both the Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program and the Rainbow Center. Bussey's recent works have been published by Magna Publication's Academic Leader, The Conversation, and The Gay & Lesbian Review. Their research interests are LGBTQ+ politics, LGBTQ+ educational support, and queer military history.
